7-ELEVEN IS NOW ON UBER EATS

Investment continues for 7-Eleven in Victoria

02 December 2020

Despite a challenging 2020, 7-Eleven’s retail network has continued to grow with three new stores opening over the past fortnight.

The new stores are in Doreen, Alfredton and Collins St in the Melbourne CBD, bringing the total number of 7-Eleven stores in Victoria more than 230.

7-Eleven General Manager of Retail Operations Braeden Lord said the company was focused on investing in its people, as well as growth and innovation.

“The year has been challenging across retail and other sectors, but we’ve been able to adapt and stay on course to grow,” he said.

While the new suburban and regional stores will give these communities access to a local 7-Eleven for the very first time, the new Melbourne store will welcome city-goers with a range of fresh new offers as they return to the CBD.

With 216 stores owned and operated by small family businesses and 3,200 staff employed across the Victorian store network and support office, Lord said 7-Eleven’s ongoing commitment to investment and growth was positive for employment and important for the economy.

“By bringing the 7-Eleven offer to new locations and communities, we are pleased to be able to create new jobs,” he said.

“This is particularly important in the wake of COVID-19.”

Alongside its network growth, 7-Eleven has also entered strategic partnerships with Adobe and Microsoft in what is set to accelerate the company’s ambitious digital strategy.

With transformation works well underway and a focus on making people’s lives easier, 7-Eleven’s digital plans signal a significant step forward for the leading convenience retailer.

“We’re excited about what's in store for our customers across Australia as we eye 2021,” Lord said.
