7-Eleven Banana Bread French Toast Recipe

Adam D’Sylva, the award-winning and renowned Melbourne chef, puts a delicious D.I.Y spin on our beloved banana bread.

More exciting collaborations to come at The Convenient Store, presented by 7-Eleven with Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. Coming to Federation Square, Melbourne from 24 March to 2 April. 

Serves 2.

Ingredients:

4 slices 7-Eleven banana bread
3 whole eggs
300ml pouring cream
100ml milk
100g Cadbury chocolate bar, chopped
Pinch cinnamon
Canola oil spray

To serve:
Maple syrup
Vanilla ice-cream
Icing sugar for dusting

Equipment:

1 waffle iron
1 bowl
1 whisk

Method:

  • Mix eggs, cream, milk and cinnamon in a bowl until well combined
  • Dip banana bread slices into egg mixture, ensuring they are well covered all over 
  • While banana bread is soaking, heat a waffle iron and spray with oil
  • Place one slice of banana bread in the waffle iron and sprinkle evenly with chocolate, then place another slice on top, close iron and cook until golden brown
  • Remove and repeat cooking instructions with remaining two slices 
  • Serve with vanilla ice-cream, maple syrup and a dusting of icing sugar
