AMES Australia impact day volunteering

We are really proud to have AMES Australia as a core partner of our 7-Eleven Good Cause program. Our partnership with AMES builds on the collective experience of both AMES and 7-Eleven to assist migrants and refugees to live, learn and work in Australia.

Our partnership seeks to:

• find new and enterprising ways to build social and economic participation for migrants and refugees choosing life in Australia;

• demonstrate the value of cultural diversity in the Australian community; and

• create more opportunities for migrants and refugees to access work through retail, customer service and small business pathways.

Contributing our time and talent towards shared goals is central to our Good Cause partnerships, in addition to increasing our partners’ impact through financial support.

Recently, 7-Eleven team members used their day’s volunteering leave to be part of the AMES Australia Impact Day event. Ten team members from across the business, including our chair Michael Smith, attended three AMES Australia classrooms in Melbourne to support, guide and coach the students on finding a job and working in Australia.
