The latest 7-Eleven Australia store opened today at 229 Nambour Connection Road Woombye with a team of nine, including five new local recruits.

Store Manager and Sunshine Coast local Rebecca Inkson has spent four years with the 7-Eleven corporate store team, and 15 years in the industry overall and is excited about opening the new store.

“I love living on the Sunshine Coast, and the chance to welcome locals into a brand-new store is fantastic. I’m really looking forward to training our five new recruits, some of whom are starting their careers in our industry. The quality of the applicants we received  for the roles available was exceptional.  The five new recruits will be joined by four other locals who are coming from other 7-Elevens in the area, I think the team will provide a great experience for Woombye locals,” Ms Inkson said.

According to Ms Inkson, this store is a little different to other 7-Eleven stores with more focus on some key products.

“We have a healthy snacking bay and a whole wall of ready to eat food including pies, sandwiches, sushi and salads. There’s a coffee island with two new state of the art coffee machines as well. We’re really excited about what we can offer our customers.”

The new store will provide a range of convenient products and services for Woombye locals. Shoppers will be able to grab their favourite products and fill up at any time as the store will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It will feature a full range of fresh food and convenience options including; 7-Eleven’s handmade sandwiches, wraps and Krispy Kreme doughnuts which are delivered fresh every day, as well as 7-Eleven’s $1 freshly ground coffee, and Slurpee including Slurpee Low Sugar options.

Woombye locals can use the My 7-Eleven app fuel lock feature. Drivers can lock in the cheapest fuel price locally available at the five closest 7-Eleven stores, and redeem it anytime in the next seven days at any 7-Eleven fuel store. As a bonus the My 7-Eleven app also has regular offers on the great range of products instore.

According to 7-Eleven National Manager Corporate Stores, Marc Costabile, Queensland drivers have made savings by using the app. “Queensland drivers using the 7-Eleven Fuel App have saved more than $4.1 million since January 2017. An average of $4.89 per fill (an average of 13 cents per litre) has been saved,” Mr Costabile said.

The Woombye store will have the full range of Mobil fuel. Mobil brand fuels are engineered to work harder and improve fuel economy for the consumer. Fuels on offer include Supreme 98, Extra 95, Special E10, Special Unleaded 91 and Special Diesel.

Mr Costabile said the store is designed provide customers additional services to meet the needs of local customers.

“The services in the new store include 7-Eleven ParcelMate. This service allows customers to pick up and send parcels 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 7-Eleven ParcelMate’s service provides customers with convenient, reliable, good value options to post parcels in Australia. Just pop your item in the right size satchel, and pay the relevant flat rate at when you drop off your parcel,” Mr Costabile said.

The company’s ongoing growth is providing opportunities for team members to build careers in both the corporate and franchised networks.

“Most of our new build stores open as corporate stores, providing internal opportunities for our corporate store team to progress in their careers. As a leader, watching your team members take advantage of the career opportunities created from their hard work and talent is incredibly rewarding,” Mr Costabile said.

Growth in the 7-Eleven network has strong, with approximately 30 stores opening each year nationally. 7-Eleven’s network expansion is particularly strong in Queensland and Western Australia, with the business choosing to invest to be part of growing with these economies as they develop.

“It’s important to us that we continue to build a network of stores in convenient local areas that fulfil the needs of our customers,” Mr Costabile concluded.
