7-ELEVEN IS NOW DELIVERING
LGBTQIA+ inclusion

LGBTQIA+ inclusion

At 7-Eleven, we are committed to creating workplaces where every team member feels safe, supported, and able to be their authentic selves. We know that fostering inclusion for LGBTQIA+ people is not just the right thing to do it strengthens our culture, supports wellbeing, and enables everyone to thrive.

Supporting LGBTQIA+ Team Members and Applicants

At 7-Eleven, we go beyond providing information by offering practical everyday support and resources to ensure LGBTQIA+ team members and applicants feel safe and included at every stage of the process.

This includes:

  • Dedicated recruitment support for trans and gender-diverse applicants, providing guidance and assistance throughout the application process, helping navigate any barriers they may face, while ensuring sensitivity, respect, and inclusion.
  • Critical roles across our People Team also complete annual LGBTQIA+ inclusion training, equipping them to provide a supportive, sensitive and equitable experience for all applicants.
  • Gender Affirmation Leave for permanent team members, providing paid leave and resources to support gender transition for social, legal and medical requirements.

By embedding these initiatives into everyday practice, we aim to create a workplace where LGBTQIA+ team members feel supported, empowered, and able to thrive from day one.

We work closely with Pride in Diversity, Australia’s leading expert in LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion, to benchmark and improve our practices. In recognition of our progress, 7-Eleven was awarded Bronze Accreditation in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) 2024, highlighting our efforts to create an inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ team members.

Through these programs, policies, and partnerships, we are proud to continue building a workplace where diversity is celebrated, bias is challenged, and every team member can thrive.
