7-Eleven 7NOW Delivery and In Store Collection Notice

 

At 7-Eleven we care about your privacy.  The following information will help you understand how we collect, use and share your personal information when you shop with us on 7NOW Delivery and in our stores.

1. When does 7-Eleven collect your personal information

The following are examples of when 7-Eleven collects your personal information and the kind of personal information that we collect. 

Visit 7-Eleven stores

  • Footage that may contain your image
  • Vehicle number plate recognition

Scan your My Card in the My 7-Eleven app

  • Your member ID
  • Information about the eligible purchases that count as a Visit
  • Transaction details when you scan your My Card in order for us to deliver your rewards

Access My 7-Eleven app including 7NOW Delivery and Pay & Go  

  • Name, email address, date of birth, mobile number, payment details and other information you provide when registering for a 7-Eleven account to use the My 7-Eleven app
  • Technical information about your device such as your operating system version, device type and model
  • Location data, for example to determine your closest store for Fuel Price Lock or to fulfil your 7NOW Delivery order, or to use Pay & Go
  • Other information that you provide and information about the choices that you make in relation to specific features of the My 7-Eleven app that you use
  • If you utilise any feature of the My 7-Eleven app to process or conduct transactions, the transaction information processed through that feature
  • Information about the way you use the My 7-Eleven app and your settings preferences

You can change the settings on your device’s operating systems to manage, disable or block the use of some digital technologies by us. If you do not enable location services and give the app the requested permissions certain features of the My 7-Eleven app such as Fuel Price Lock feature and Pay & Go may not function properly or at all. 

Shop using 7NOW Delivery

  • Your name, residential address, mobile number and DOB (if you are purchasing restricted items such as liquor, tobacco and tobacco related products
  • Details of your orders

Purchase Restricted Items via 7NOW Delivery

  • Date of birth when purchasing restricted items.  7-Eleven, our delivery partners, or any third party technology service provider that we use may verify the validity of your ID and/or age by requiring you to provide a valid ID and your ID may be scanned by the delivery driver
  • 7-Eleven, our delivery partners, or any third party technology service provider that we use may: 
    • collect, hold, disclose and retain your personal information for the limited purpose of verifying the validity of your ID and/or age (including against government records) when you place and/or receive your order for restricted items 
    • may encrypt and securely store select personal information (such as DOB and ID expiration date) for a reasonable period of time, including for compliance purposes.

2. Why does 7-Eleven collect your personal information

We collect, use or disclose your personal information for various purposes including:

  • We collect your personal information when you shop in our stores to keep you and our team members, premises and systems safe and protected from violent or dangerous activity.  Cameras including CCTV footage may record footage with may contain your image as well as vehicle number plate recognition.  We may use your personal information when conducting investigations in cases of safety incidents, fraud or data security risks.  
  • We collect your personal information to register and administer your 7-Eleven account and take and deliver your orders placed on 7NOW Delivery.
  • We use your contact details such as mobile number if we need to communicate with you about your 7NOW Delivery Orders.
  • Verifying your identity.
  • Providing features and our services related to the My 7-Eleven app (including to personalise those features and services). 
  • Processing transactions and payments.
  • Delivering direct marketing and targeted advertising:
    • If you have opted in you receive marketing communications, we will use your email address or mobile to send you emails and SMS.
    • Providing you with recommendations (including personalised recommendations) in relation to 7-Eleven products or services and other marketing related purposes. For example, if you scan your My 7-Eleven app we may take your past interaction with us into account to show you content that we consider may be relevant to you.
  • Dealing with your enquiries and requests.
  • We collect and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, for example when selling restricted products such as tobacco and interacting with regulatory bodies.
  • To perform data analytics and reporting. We may measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and online or in app advertising by using information about whether you interacted with an ad, offer or message we sent you.

3. Who does 7-Eleven share my personal information with?

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • external service providers and marketing organisations (and have those third parties collect your personal information on our behalf via their software);
  • our trusted partners, franchisees, suppliers, dealers, distributors and other third parties with whom we have commercial relationships,

for the purposes of:

  • providing the My 7-Eleven app and its features and services;
  • making it easier for you to deal with our franchisees and trusted partners;
  • our business function and activities;
  • where you have consented, direct marketing purposes; and/or
  • any other purposes as set out in 7-Eleven's Privacy Policy (available at www.7eleven.com.au/privacy-policy).

We may also share your personal information with:

  • our delivery partners to fulfil your purchases from 7NOW Delivery;
  • the police and fraud detection service providers in relation to investigations or legal proceedings.  For example, we share CCTV footage with the police for investigations and legal proceedings; and
  • other entities where permitted or required by law.

Where we share your personal information (including overseas) we do so in compliance with Australian privacy laws and we take reasonable steps to ensure that recipients similarly agree to protect that information.

4. Access to and correction of personal information

  • You have a right to request access to your personal information. 7-Eleven's Privacy Policy (available at www.7eleven.com.au/privacy-policy) contains details of how you can access information we hold about you, how you can ask for any information to be corrected, and the process we follow to respond to any complaints about our management of personal information. 
  • If you wish to opt out of marketing communications and promotions, you can opt out of receiving them by sending an email to 24-7customerservice@7eleven.com.au. Additionally, any email promotion message which we send to you will also contain instructions on how to unsubscribe.
  • You can manage in app push notifications or sharing your location directly through your mobile device settings.
