Franchisee Agreement Update

7-Eleven Stores Pty Ltd said today that after several weeks of engagement with Franchisees and their representatives, more than 90% of stores are now trading under a new agreement, which delivers significant benefits to franchisees.

The new agreement includes a range of financial benefits as well as increased compliance, governance and oversight initiatives that are part of a broader strategy to ensure 7-Eleven remains Australia’s number 1 convenience store operator.

7-Eleven interim CEO Bob Baily said “the overwhelming majority of Franchisees signing up to the new agreement was a positive step forward and it gives us great confidence for the future.

“7-Eleven and our Franchisees are working cohesively to ensure our stores are good places to work and provide customers with the service, products and great value deals they have come to expect.

“An important aspect of the new agreement is a commitment to increased compliance, governance and oversight arrangements relating to store operations and workplace obligations,” Mr Baily said.

The small number of stores yet to sign the new agreement have until 1 February 2016 if they wish to do so.

7-Eleven is focused on sustainable growth and will continue to implement its strategy for new stores so it can provide opportunities for people wanting to run their own business, who in turn can continue to provide employment for thousands of Australians.
