7-Eleven Chief Executive elected Franchise Council of Australia Chair

7-Eleven Chief Executive Warren Wilmot has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) this month.

The appointment will see Warren lead the FCA in its work as the peak body for the $144 billion franchise sector in Australia, representing franchisees, franchisors and service providers to the sector.

Warren brings extensive local and international industry leadership experience to the position. He previously served as Director of the Australian Association of Convenience Stores and as an International Director on the Board of the National Association of Convenience Stories in the US.

He joined 7-Eleven in 1993 and assumed the role of Chief Executive in 2002. He has also served as a senior leader and advisor for other companies owned by the Withers family, including Starbucks Coffee Australia; and has more than 10 years’ operational and management experience with the Pizza Hut Group.

Outgoing FCA Chairman Michael Paul said Warren’s expertise in Australian franchising and his ongoing involvement with the FCA would help the organisation grow even stronger.

“Warren’s experience, passion, insight and leadership as Chairman will be incredibly valuable to the FCA and its members, as the organisation pursues its mission of promoting, enhancing and protecting Australian franchising, and creating opportunity and reward for both franchisors and franchisees,” said Michael.
