For the millions of Australians looking to send gifts to family, friends, or work connections, or those wanting to dispatch orders for their side-hustle, 7-Eleven ParcelMate provides convenient flat rate parcel sending with 24/7 drop off.
The cut-off date to send parcels for expected pre-Christmas delivery is Friday 10 December for Standard Service parcels, and Friday 17 December for Express Service parcels.
According to 7-Eleven General Manager Product, Matt Keogh, providing choice and convenient options for customers was at the centre of the design of the service which has now been in the market for more than three years.
“While ecommerce has been growing rapidly over the past decade, there's no doubt that many additional Australians embraced online shopping over the last two years. The volume of packages currently in the network means many people are looking for additional ways to send gifts to family interstate, or dispatch orders to their online shoppers,” Mr Keogh said.
“Customers can send parcels to street addresses Australia wide using the self-serve kiosk at any one of the 545 7-Eleven stores with the 7-Eleven ParcelMate Lockers. The kiosk is simple to use, you just select the right size box or satchel for your parcel, follow the instructions on the kiosk to address and pay, then drop the parcel straight into the lockers in-store.
“The pricing of our offer gives customers not only a convenient and reliable service, but competitive rates. Our Standard Service starts at $12 for the 1kg satchel and the Express Service at $15 for the 1kg Satchel. The Super 5kg Boxes are $21 for the Standard Service and $28 for the Express Service. The weights are a guideline.
“Our flat rate parcel sending service means there’s no need to weigh your parcel, if it fits in one of our satchels or boxes, you just pay the flat rates depending on if you want standard or express delivery.”
Mr Keogh said consumers looking to save that bit extra can also take advantage of the ‘Mates Rates’ offer.
“Our 7-Eleven ParcelMate Mates Rates gives customers a discounted service to send between two 7-Eleven stores, where the recipient collects the parcel directly from one of our lockers in a store location that suits them. It means that people can save an average of $2 per parcel as well as providing a convenient 24/7 collection option for the recipient.”
The digitally enabled 7-Eleven ParcelMate service not only provides customers with more 24/7 secure locations to collect parcels from a range of delivery services including Australia Post, Toll, DHL and others, but also provides Australians with the ability to drop off their parcels anytime until December 10 for Christmas delivery thanks to Toll.
While parcel volumes are high Australia wide, 95% of 7-Eleven ParcelMate parcels were delivered on time in November with standard delivery averaging 3 business days and next business day delivery for express parcels (metro to metro) if dropped into a locker by 12pm business days.
